The glaze is clear and no factory mark appears anywhere on the backs. Even glaze wear, light crazing and a soft warmth in the white run across all four, giving them the honest surface of genuine antique kitchen ware; one of the four carries a small chip to the unglazed reverse at the lower edge, out of sight once the board hangs, and is offered here at its own price.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSmall glazed boards like these hung on a hook in Belgian and northern French kitchens, and the same fluted frame appears on the boards made by the Hainaut faïence works from the 1890s onward.
