A French still life in oil on canvas, signed lower right and dated 1956: a full bouquet of thistles in a red-brown glazed earthenware jug, with two stems fallen on the table. Dusty rose, straw and moss green against a soft grey-green ground — quiet colours that sit easily in a farmhouse room.

Signed “Andrée André-Reymond”, 1956. The name is not a listed one, so the painting stands on its own merit. Oil on canvas, unframed and unvarnished, on its original French stretcher with the “12 F” label still attached.

Condition: good for its age — canvas taut and sound, no tears or repairs. Some pale milky bloom across the background, clearest in the upper left (a normal reaction on an unvarnished oil), and light edge wear with a few small paint losses at the extreme edges.

Measurements: 60 × 50 cm / 23.6 × 19.7 in. Depth 2 cm / 0.8 in.
