SKU — KW17

A French faisselle — the pierced stoneware pot used in country kitchens to drain fresh curd into fromage blanc.

Wheel-thrown grès in a speckled olive-tan salt glaze, two incised lines around the body, holes cut by hand down the sides and across the base. The iron flecks in the clay show through the glaze.

Unmarked but for one small worn impressed mark on the side. France, first half of the 20th century.
Material: salt-glazed stoneware (grès).
Condition: very good. No chips or cracks, every hole clear. Pale glaze runs near the base from the firing.
Measurements: H 8 cm × D 12.5 cm / H 3.1 × D 4.9 in.

For kitchen brushes, dried stems or a pillar candle.
