The Mûre Plates
The Mûre Plates
Four French dinner plates in terre de fer, printed in a deep blue-green with blackberry branches, bramble leaves and thorned canes, and edged with a fine ivy-and-berry border.
All four are marked on the reverse for the Badonviller faïencerie in Lorraine, with the pattern name Mûre — blackberry — printed inside the laurel wreath. Early 20th century, c. 1900–1925.
- Maker: Badonviller, Lorraine, France — marked "MÛRE – T.F. – BADONVILLER" in a laurel wreath
- Era: early 20th century, c. 1900–1925
- Material: terre de fer (French ironstone), transfer-printed under a cream glaze
- Condition: good, One plate has a fine hairline on the reverse — barely visible, but a fingernail just catches it. It is stable and does not show from the front. No chips and no restoration on any of them. Even all-over age-toning across the fronts, fine glaze crazing.
- Measurements (each): D 23 cm / D 9.1 in
- Set of four, sold together
Four flat plates in the same blackberry pattern are listed separately, a centimetre down in size — eight in all, if you would like both sets.
