A French terre de fer plate with a striking blue-and-white figural transfer in the Renaissance-revival taste — a winged figure (Minerva/Athena) with shield and lance, framed by scrollwork and mascaron (face-mask) borders, on a shaped rim.
Maker: French, crowned terre de fer mark to the reverse (see photo)
Era: late 19th to early 20th century
Material: terre de fer (French ironstone-type earthenware) with blue transfer decoration
Condition: very good — natural patina/crazing consistent with age
Measurements: ⌀ approx. 25 cm / 9.8 in
