The Violetta Gravy Boat
The Violetta Gravy Boat
Found at a market in Carpentras, Provence. A French saucière with its underplate attached, made by Moulin des Loups & Hamage in northern France, most likely 1928–1940.
The green Violetta pattern — garlands of violets with a beaded border — winds along the scalloped rim, over a glaze that has aged to warm cream with fine crazing. The fixed underplate catches every drip, and the two pouring sides serve left and right hands alike.
Good vintage condition: a tiny chip on the rim, natural patina and all-over crazing, and glaze wear along the base. No cracks or repairs.
Measurements: H 11 cm × W 14 cm × L 24 cm (H 4.3" × W 5.5" × L 9.4")
