Authentic antique French provincial footed tureen bowl with beautifully aged patina, warm creamy glaze and soulful timeworn character.
Curated at an antique market in Carpentras, Provence in the South of France, this elegant decorative bowl dates to the late 19th to early 20th century, circa 1890–1915.
Its sculptural ribbon-like handles, elevated footed form and softly aged glaze give it the exact understated French country kitchen aesthetic so sought after today.
The glaze has developed beautiful natural crazing and tea staining throughout decades of age and use, creating a wonderfully collected old world appearance.
One side features an old stable hairline crack consistent with age and use. It does not affect the structure of the piece and only adds to its authentic decorative antique charm.
Condition: Good antique condition with heavy age-related patina, staining and crazing throughout. Visible stable hairline crack as shown in photos. Structurally stable and highly decorative.
Measurements: Width handle to handle: 30 cm / 11.8 inches
Height: 16 cm / 6.3 inches
Sourced in Provence, Southern France.
