The Banyuls Saucière
Found at a market in Banyuls-sur-Mer, on the French Mediterranean coast. A white porcelain sauce tureen with its underplate attached — the lid has an acorn finial and a notch for the ladle, and the scroll handles carry a rope-twist relief. Unmarked French porcelain, made around 1880–1920.
Very good condition: no chips, cracks or repairs, just a few small firing specks in the glaze from the kiln. The base is unglazed, as made.
Measurements: H 12 cm without lid / 18 cm with lid, underplate 24 × 17 cm (H 4.7 in / 7.1 in with lid, underplate 9.4 × 6.7 in).
