The Geranium Saucière
The Geranium Saucière
Found at a market in Carpentras, in Provence.
An antique covered sauce tureen from the Sarreguemines faiencerie in Lorraine, stamped with its pattern name, Géranium — green geranium blossoms and curving Art Nouveau stems on cream earthenware, made by Utzschneider & Cie around 1900. Complete with its notched lid and attached underplate.
No chips or hairlines; even crazing with some age-toning, and an old, stable repair to the lid’s knob — part of its history, shown in the photos.
