The Jardinière Bowl
The Jardinière Bowl
Found at a market in Amiens, northern France. This blue and white bowl was made by Utzschneider & Cie in Sarreguemines in the late 19th century — their Jardinière pattern, printed in soft cobalt on cream terre de fer, with flower bouquets outside and a flowered border and central medallion within.
The glaze carries an even, all-over crazing and a warm patina. Old chips to the foot ring and the underside of the rim, a small chip and fine hairline at the rim edge, and some age-toning inside — all shown in the photos.
