Found at a market in Carpentras, in Provence.

An antique French saucière on an attached stand — bowl, pedestal foot and underplate made in one piece — from the Choisy-le-Roi faiencerie of Hippolyte Boulenger & Cie, c. 1880–1900. The terre de fer body carries a purple-blue transfer of grapevines, tendrils and knotted ribbon bows, with floral sprays and a running border along the stand. The deeply impressed mark Granit Médaille d'Or HB Choisy-le-Roi sits beneath the base. Purple transferware is far less common than the standard blue.

Even, fine crazing throughout, softened into a warm patina, with some age-toning and a tiny nick at the rim — no cracks or repairs.
