The Pexonne Compotier
The Pexonne Compotier
Found at an antiques shop in Uzès, southern France. A low footed dish from the Faïencerie de Pexonne in Lorraine, its wine-red Art Deco border applied through a stencil and brushed in by hand in the 1920s–30s.
The cream glaze carries a soft patina with light marks from use; no chips, cracks or repairs found. Lovely for serving fruit, cheese or pastries — or simply on its own.
Measurements: 22 cm (8.7 in) in diameter, 4 cm (1.6 in) high.
