The Pink Bird Compote
Found at a second hand shop in Stockholm. A late 19th century porcelain compote with a wide rose-pink band and a small hand painted bird perched on a flowering branch at its center. Unmarked, likely Swedish, and typical of the era's hand-decorated dessert porcelain.
The gilt lines are partly rubbed and the painted decor shows some fading from use — no chips, cracks or repairs. Lovely as a small cake stand, for fruit or pralines, or on its own.
